I’ve used them for email for a few years. It’s a really nice experience and it’s so nice knowing my data isn’t being used for advertising or other purposes.

I roll my own on a couple of Linux VPS' using Wireguard.

NordVPN is a solid option though, and Surfshark comes in a bit cheaper I believe.

Never had a problem with Mozilla VPN, uses Mullvad's servers and Mozilla gets some of the money. It'll be a dark day if Firefox ever gets bought out or otherwise compromised.

I don't know if I'd recommend Proton anymore. Their CEO has been increasingly pro-Trump, and a lot of people who are smarter and savvier about privacy than me are nervous about what that might mean for the security of their products going forward.

Likewise. Sometimes worth periodically renewing / changing the VPN connection cos linked server can get bogged down and it can be a pain dealing with Google services - often found I can’t send to gmail emails thru the VPN, but otherwise it’s always on. Usually good deals for plans on NordVPN.

I like how mullvad still cater to their original audience: they let you buy a license with cash (EUR, USD, GBP, SEK, NOK, CHF, CAD, AUD, NZD) if you're really paranoid.
