People keep telling me it's really good…but it's also the reason Dan DeCarlo was unceremoniously booted from Archie comics after asking royalties from a movie based on something he created.

I was in the habit of seeing a new movie every sunday when it came out, and I was the only 30+yo in the audience, and when the band Du Jour got onto the jet I nearly fell out of my seat laughing... and I was the only one who *was* laughing.

Oh, also, I picked it mainly because my mother had worked on the cartoon (which existed *after* the comics, I'll point out). (She was an ink&painter, and I strongly remember her comments that they all hated the hats because they were a pain in the ass to paint.)

Wow I just realized I saw this movie once more than 20 years ago. My recollections are very dim, aside from some loose associations with hyperpop colors & the vaguest echo of melodies. But I think I liked it, & maybe I should watch it again. I worry that it was probably better thru teen eyes tho…
