One of the small pleasures of being terminally online is blocking a troll less than five seconds after he leaves an obnoxious comment, he doesn't even get to linger in the afterglow of his own cleverness before he gets sent to the cornfield

I love the blue sky ethos of just blocking Trolls as soon as you encounter them! It makes this place so much better than that broken hellscape we all left to be here 😁
That’s my FB account these days. It’s almost as bad as The Bad Place was for far right nutters who are definitely not my friends showing up in my feed.
I said farewell to FB.
I miss some friends from there - but some unexpected ones came over here and I don't have to waaaaaaaade through 8 promos to see 1 post from an actual friend. I do miss local community stuff... but those are not worth the frustration!
I've only had to block 2 trolls so far, my mistake was trying to educate them first.
But you can't educate willful ignorance
I think I will be adopting your method instead.
Than-you for the tip!
I agree with the sentiment. I can't imagine what Congress is thinking, allowing Elon et al to steal their power without a fight. But they are. We probably can't stop them from doing so. Now what are we, the people, going to do about our self proclaimed king?
We want to think that our side is clean, but it's not. In the past several years the gap between the GOP and the Dem politicians has closed. They are darn near both sides of the coin now although our side likes to talk a good game, but I feel they abandoned us to save their own skin.
One side thinks trans folks should not exist & women should not have bodily autonomy. So yeah dems suck at most things too but the 2 sides thing is such bs
Apropos of nothing, but the story source of “sent to the cornfield” is the most terrifying I’ve ever read, and I’m something of a horror connoisseur. Bixby’s “It’s a Good Life” gnaws at my (sub?)consciousness every day.
I love blocking people, it's like you just removed them from reality. They are people you wouldn't have ever met anyhow so their only way of affecting your life was removed with the touch of a button.

A brief, liminal moment where they glimpse their irrelevance before vanishing into the void.
Pure, surgical negation.

Take away their power.
Make them weak.
