The Vogue article did little to change my mind about the Met Gala. I mean, it's great that they're honoring black designers and fashion, but afterwards it'll be back to the same old struggles and class divisions. It's a night of super wealthy people doing super wealthy people things.
Well, I hoped it would have shown you a cultural moment in the face of adversity. It was a big middle finger to the current state of Americans…to Trump and his supporters
Their disdain at black opulence is glorious to people like me! I’m very proud of this single solitary fleeting moment.
I fell in love with her voice when I was maybe 8 and I’ve never stopped loving her 🫶🏻 30 years of magic that she has given me. I hope she is smiling everyday
that they're still holding (and we're still supporting) this event given the growing awareness and disdain for the egregious income inequality in this country is utterly dystopian
The Met Gala is Mar-a-lago north for one night. Bourgeois right wing wealthy and Corp Democrat doppelgangers sit together, for a photo op, clapping in harmony for "to fund the arts" while cops keep the street outside clear of homeless beggars.
Lauren Hill Ate! All these negative comments are ridiculous! Where was all the hate last year or any year! You have the option of not but you choose violence? She looks GORGEOUS
The struggle to get food every morning is indescribable. This link is the only source for income and getting milk to two-moth child. I am an english language teacher who was living with dignity but all my life has turned over because of the war. Every donation makes difference.🙏🙏🙏 https://gofund.me/ba3f414f
It’s nice to be able to spend so much money on …. Um, what’s this event only the very rich attend wearing costumes that you pay jillions for to wear one time?
So lovely to be able to ignore the reality of those doing without.
WHY IS HOLLYWOOD SO FUCKING QUIET?!? Wheres the $ they have?
Please consider adding #AltText to image posts to ensure equitable access to folx with vision loss & other disabilities who may require the use of screen readers as they deserve access to information the same way sighted folx do if we truly want liberation for all of us, & we should all want that! 🙏🏾
All the fake activist in the comments lol. Yes people want to experience moments of joy as a moment of reprieve during these horrible times.
These artist are just showing up at the expense of the designers from the tables to the actual clothes. You guys better act like this during the cmas too.
CLOCK IT!!! They don’t hoot & holler about any of their YT shit but as soon as black people are honored for ONCE in a lifetime of fashion that WE INSPIRED, they’re crying about the planet. KMA!
I’ve given up on seeing her live these days after being disappointed too many times. But I’m still really pleased to see her looking happy and well here! ❤️❤️
