I think this may be the first time I disagree with you. I love all types of music (except county, sorry). But the half time show was terrible. It was lackluster and the audio was awful.

I love hip hop! I was a child of the 80's when we had some incredible talent. If I was able to understand the words coming out of his mouth I would have loved it but it sounded like the mic was down his throat.
I think a Super Bowl halftime show needs to be an act. Single artist halftime shows are, I feel, generally a pretty tough hang. In recent times at least.

I just don’t “see” how the dance & lyrics portray those themes. I don’t see the genius attributed to a pretty chaotic choreography. Maybe it was more comprehensible from the elevated seats?
I set my TV on Closed Captions solely so I could catch his words. As it is... I hope there is a YouTube version so his words can be slowed down... this performance was on par with "Hamilton"... powerful... gutsy... one for the books for sure!! God Bless America 🇺🇸

I agree. A 4ft 9in man who clearly suffers from short man syndrome. His nasally voice doesn’t help making him difficult to understand. I’m not a fan of Kendrick Lamar and I think it was one of the worst halftime shows I’ve ever seen but that’s my opinion.
I want to like it but I can’t understand a word in the first half of it and don’t know his music. Maybe subtitles would help? Visuals are good. Maybe I’m old with bad hearing. The later part I can make out.
