I would potentially have a lot more time for headlines like this if there was any other way for many people to recognise that they are neurodivergent and start taking steps to actually improve their lives. As there aren't, as there is little support even when diagnosed, I have zero time for them.

I have come to the conclusion having autistic traits is normal for my extended family, but currently only one person has been diagnosed autism. Helping our family recognise and come to terms with this is a kindness not a terrible thing.

I had this argument with a family member once, literally the most infuriating take imaginable. But i also got a rare argument win with "if it took them YEARS to get a diagnosis, from a PROFESSIONAL DOCTOR, and the treatment HELPS THEM FEEL BETTER AND BE HAPPY, how can you say its fake??"
