Wait until the nasty deportations crashed the housing market and a bunch of homes come for sale that they buy up cheap and then turn everyone into renters
REPUBLICONS are the greedy politicians who ruined the housing market. After the 2008 crash of the housing market, the first person to start buying homes for a fund was none other than GDumya Bush's nephew. Looks like he didn't become the 47th president like they planned.
Greedy politicians are controlled by developers who have decided affordable housing isn't profitable enough for them to bother with. What isn't profitable to developers, isn't profitable to the politicians they buy with their donations (and wads of wedding cash.)
I think it was an unintentional convergence of NIMBY zoning laws that reduce housing density, rising prices in construction materials and labor, a decline in the relative number of trades workers and a failure to address these issues on a policy level.
This is why housing is becoming increasingly unaffordable. Corporate conglomerates have been allowed to buy up all the housing monopolizing costs in certain areas.
President Xi Jinping of China: In 2017, Xi Jinping stated that China will maintain the principle that houses are for people to live in, not for speculation.
Yet he did nothing to stop it. Farmers sold their land to the developers in exchange for 4 or 5 apartments in the complex to be build. 1 to live in, 4 to rent out for income.
Perhaps a poor wording (still adjusting to the post length limit), but I mean: immigration without real systems and plans for:
- job accessibility
- lacking integration plans in general, but especially language
- proper housing planning to avoid economic stratification and isolation
It's the racists who want to keep the conversation at "immigration evil!" level, and pretend that it's not a nuanced topic. And they want to cut funding from programs to improve/regulate it.
No coffee we clearly are dealing with this issues in a responsible manner. The system is broke and has been overwhelmed for nearly 2 decades.
We have millions of undocumented workers being exploited for America’s need for cheap labor.
If history has taught us anything, it’s that NOW while there are enough decent truth seeing Americans it is high time to stand up and fight against fascism! Once elite cave out of self interest, judiciary compliant + citizens dumbed down through propaganda there is no return!
I like the message - but this isn't about what's happening. What's currently happening is that a bunch of countries are releasing their inmates and shipping them over here. That's not refugees, that's prisoners. Not all of them, but most of them. I just want to make a clear distinction between the 2
There doesn’t need to be a conspiracy! Expensive locations don’t build enough housing, because there are terrible planning and zoning restrictions that generally make it illegal!
Pretty true. A few years back had meeting with neighbours. One lady mentioned how her land lord kept trying to get her out. She was paying 800£ rent for entire house. My previous place was shareholders with 5 people, each paying 350£ a month.
Also, Nimbys who advocate against building dense affordable housing anywhere near them for fear that more housing availability in their neighborhood will decrease their property value.
The expectation of exponential growth on property value is unrealistic and incompatible with affordable housing.
So true and so sad to see the effects. I have had elderly family members pushed out of their mobile home Parks because the sole proprietor sold to investment company. The new management raised their space rentals by 10% each year. This price gouging is very difficult for a retired person.
And they don't invest on social housing, nor encouraging cities to have their own housing properties so they can adjust housing prices like they do many others countries that are also capitalists ironically.
Add wealthy immigrants, and middle-class Russians, Europeans, Indians and Asians who score jobs here, apply for green cards, and forget to check their privilege at the door. AND then want to slam it so they can Chain Migrate the rest of their family.
I don’t think the government giving refugees (people fleeing from violence and persecution that 7/10 times we caused) 3000$ is cutting that much into your taxes. It just isn’t. Most of your taxes go to the military and into billionaire pockets. Stop blaming immigrants.
Yeah I think Americans should get more than 3000 one time ever. Immigrants should too. There’s enough money and resources for everyone to live like a multimillionaire, I’m not going to complain about an immigrant getting 3000 when Tesla or someone gets billions from the government
It’s not, but regaurdless, you multiply 3k times however many people got that, probably less than 10k, so we will say 10 million just to way over estimate, divided by 170 million, you’re paying less than a penny for the entire process.
Doesn't matter, no body's going to be getting anything. Elon & Trump say they're cutting the budget by a 1/3. Trump also wants to increase defense spending.
It's always this. doesn't matter the topic. the poor didn't make your taxes go up, corporations not paying as much did. Doctors didn't make your helth bill go up, your insurance did.
But it's more "fun" to hate someone, i guess. damn those [insert your hate here]"
As a former, not rich, owner/landlord of a half-dozen properties…scarcity of contractors and COVID made us sell. Always tried to be fair with rent & families…maybe that’s why my wife & I no longer are owner/landlords. Cash-flow is key to keeping that train rolling
I used to think this until I read “the color of law” and learned about zoning. I don’t think the meme is wrong but there are more ppl to blame that don’t seem nefarious at all. (Detached single-family home owners who don’t want density)
It legit makes me sad far too many people who voted for mass deportation will be sitting in churches next month celebrating a baby whose family sought asylum from political violence. They forgot Jesus was a refugee.
Exactly when 45 placed Tariffs on the soy bean crops and slashed green cards many farmers in my area sold off to developers. Most of those developers were funded by Chinese money. They built entire neighborhoods, setting both the rental and purchase market, driving prices up
Refugees have driven up housing prices in Norway as there's less homes avaliable then there is demand. So sadly alot of them are put in downtrodden old and damaged houses that isn't really fit for living. And there's no money to build new. can't even afford to fix our bridge due to refugee costs
The figure on the left is from Monopoly. Every person who has ever played the game, knows what happens in a situation of monopoly. -Game ends. Lots of people mistake the game having the title ’Capitalism’. This is simply incorrect. No-one benefits from monopolies, least the capitalists.

There’s a reason they’re buying up SF houses & outbidding real families trying to buy
Refugees do need housing! They do add additional units to the backlog!
I'd love to see a comprehensive report on
the impact the millions of airbnb's have had
on the supply end.
Rated 💯% true.
Fancy XD
I mean, I agree with what it says, but, I can't help but wonder how Bethesda feels about their character being used like this.
In the end, no apartments or land to farm.
Is unregulated immigration problematic? Sure. But it's not taking our rentals, or causing layoffs, or degraring educational systems.
And it's becoming a real tiring dog whistle from the alt-right.
- job accessibility
- lacking integration plans in general, but especially language
- proper housing planning to avoid economic stratification and isolation

Then they can go "see? Told ya it wouldn't work!"

And I'll keep liking it every time I see it. Besides, Fallout > Monopoly, all day.
