The Defense Department was sent "scrambling" after DOGE publicly posted classified information on the federal agency that handles U.S. surveillance satellites.
I think i remember reading something a few years back that the amount of agents being killed overseas went up after the 🟧🤡 took office/had access to classified data...trying to remember where though
Actually not top secret but still classified. The most concerning of this is how they are getting this information. What other information are they accessing and the incompetence and lack of oversight with what they might be doing with it
He's President, he gets to do that. Normally, he would be having a very serious conversation with agents from a variety of government agencies, but ....
Whenever he actually takes charge of something, instead of having others do it for him, is when we see he really is just as dumb as he looks, he got lucky a few times with things he bought.
This shit needs to be told to Tanya Chutkan who is RIGHT NOW hearing from the state AG's trying to stop DOGE completely. She reportedly isn't sure they proved they need an immediate TRO.
Does he even have security clearance? He sure shouldn't after this! I mean, this sort of thing would get you whisked away to a basement somewhere to await trial (unless, of course, you're a former president who's bought a judge or two.)
Elon Musk’s unauthorized release of classified information via the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) website constitutes a serious breach of U.S. national security laws. Such actions violate statutes designed to protect sensitive information, including Espionage Act + 18 U.S.C. § 1924
1/4 🧵
The Espionage Act and 18 U.S.C. § 1924, which penalize unauthorized disclosure and retention of classified materials. Individuals found guilty under these laws may face substantial fines and imprisonment.
An Executive Order (EO) cannot override national security laws.
• If Musk has unauthorized access or releases classified information, he could face severe criminal charges under The Espionage Act (18 U.S.C. § 793-798) and Unauthorized Disclosure Laws (18 U.S.C. § 641).
So is this going to be another "the president can declassify anything" BS the Republicans throw at us? "If Donald said he could have it, that automatically declassified it."
If we ever manage to restore our democracy, it will require billions of dollars to replace the compromised computer software and hardware needed to rebuild our systems.
