Cockfighting is cheaper and generates more outrage, therefore more engagement, therefore more ad revenue. It's also much easier to control a narrative that you invent rather than deal with reality and can be used for ingratiation with the Musk admin. It is the future of American "journalism".

Richard Haas said HTS will probably be designated as the jihadi terrorists they are.

HTS has been designated as a terrorist org for years. Most factions in Syria have this designation. Take the designation away from them and a few others. See if they are just paying lip service peace. Get aid to people who need it. Also, Haas is wrong a lot, like many Middle East analysts.

So what? He was also an advisor to Bush and Powell during in the run up to and through the Iraq War. He studied Europe and was envoy to Northern Island. He is smart and interesting but any member of the Bush natsec/State team gets extra scrutiny. Shit, they caused the Syrian Civil war via Iraq.
