I live near and often walk through SoHo. The sidewalks are so congested with tourists and shoppers. It's wonderful that it's such a busy part of the city, but there's no reason we should concede so much space to cars in that area.

At the very least, Spring and Prince should be closed to private vehicles.

While that would not have helped the Broome/Centre intersection where this person was killed by a driver, it could mean overall fewer cars in SoHo which means a safer and more livable space for all.
