Had the opportunity to attend a mayoral forum this morning on public safety and quality of life. Big takeaways: @jimfornyc.bsky.social is unhinged and has bad ideas. @jessicaramosqns.bsky.social is great, sensible, well-spoken, intelligent, and all the other good things.

Could not be more proud of my father, one of the lawyers on this case from the firm Talbot, Carmouche, & Marcello. The case lasted 13 years & required that the lawyers learn the ins & outs of coastal geology. I hope to one day be as smart & impactful as my father. apnews.com/article/chev...

Talking about one of my *favorite* topics in Intro to Public Policy @huntercollege.bsky.social today: policy failure!!

OMG Michel Martin was absolutely amazing in her interview of Troy Edgar (Dept of Homeland Sec) this AM about Mahmoud Khalil @npr.org

Feeling good about the $250 I pitched in for Mamdani today. Embarrassed it took me so long.

Cities are hurting as a result of the chaos in Washington. But did you know that states can fund things, too? New York State gives $700 million a year in taxpayer funds to subsidize film and TV productions. What if we used that money for higher ed, housing, or food instead?

How’s not voting for Kamala Harris going for everyone? 🤬

This is me. I applied for a job at GSPIA that I was really excited about. Apps were due March 1 but I guess it’s over now.

Here's the thing about the train: You gotta move all the way into the train

I find it so hurtful how society only cares about a select type of jobs lost. I am supposed to accept destroying all nature cause farmers cannot lose their jobs, but it is completely acceptable for academics to lose theirs.

My institutional subscription is always a month behind so I can't actually read this but...pizza money? mmmmk. (if anyone has a PDF of this, please share!)

Y’all, I love Hunter college so hard

The best part about submitting a paper for peer review is spending the rest of the day thinking about how horrible the paper is and how you don’t deserve to be published.
