Yes. And then I went into a store where a girlfriend worked and she saw me and started laughing (the color was off). Quit dying it after that. I'm "ash blonde" now lol.
From the first time my mother let me (around middle school) until now (late 30s) I have spent more time with dyed hair than not LOL
In fact, I am not even sure what my natural color is anymore. I was born blonde but like many it started darken so who knows what it is fully grown out now *shrug*
I am occasionally tempted to answer this question "no" (since I clearly do) but I am worried it will come off as me being an asshole rather than a silly lil butthead
I'm blonde.
I dyed it black.
So when it grew out, I had blonde roots.
Cheap dye faded to purple and green.
And then I got a really short haircut.
For a while, I had this wild, multicoloured piebald thing going on
When I was 16 I dyed it black. Later I had the black stripped out and dyed it red. It's been some shade of red ever since then. I am just now letting it grow out to see what's happened to my natural hair colour, now that I'm nearly 56.
Yes, regularly. I’m 70 and have a lot of grey growing in but colouring my hair definitely keeps me looking younger. I’ll do it for a few more years for sure!
I have pitch black hair, once when I was 18 and buzzed short a friend helped me dye it blonde and it took an entire highlighter kit, it was crispy and grew out to half black half white within a week but it was neat.
Yup. Dyed it red with a temporary dye in high school. On me it was permanent.
Started bleaching highlights in my late 20s, did that for 10 years. Added some fun colours during that time in tiny amounts (conservative job). Stopped in 2008, have had no processes since.
I went to a Halloween party as the color blue. Blue clothing, dye on my hands and face, dye in my hair. I drank heavily starting with the third Smurf comment.
Yes, i have coloured my hair. I quit colouring my hair about a year ago and decided to embrace the grey. I now use what a friend calls funky colours. Temporary colours that wash out after a week or so.
I used to do it all the time. I’m a natural redhead and I almost died when I saw the first white hair. Then I went blond for a while. I’ve done streaks and chunking. Now it’s white. Sort of. It’s too hard to keep up an artificial colour and I’m far too lazy to do it.
Did for years but happily embraced the silver threads of wisdom during the Pandy!
My kid wanted to dye their hair when they were 10 years old. I said I was worried about their hair being damaged. They said, "Come on Mom, it's not like I'll still be dying it when I'm 40!" 🤣🤣🤣
Wife's started turning in her 40s & is now almost fully steel gray. She adds blue highlights periodically, & is constantly getting spontaneous compliments on it from random women of all ages. (& honestly it does look great.)
I’ve been trying to figure out how to stop dying my hair. I’d love to have silver/steel gray hair, but I don’t let the roots grow enough to tell. I obviously had some roots when I was pregnant with the boys but it was less than 50% then and hard to tell.
For the record: when my hair does go grey enough for dyeing, I'm not going to bother with any weaksauce "natural" colour. It's gonna be stuff like lavender, aqua, and fuchsia.
All of my colors are meant to emphasize my grey. My Hot Butch Wife is a painter and she does my hair in the kitchen — like my Memaw and Mom and Aunts used to do when I was a child. Also — she doesn’t paint down to the scalp. I don’t ever stress about my roots showing.
My Wife and I have been married for more than 15 years and friends for over 25. I’ve called her Hot Butch Wife for so long I forget no one but us, our 22 year old daughter and our fam would recognize my adoration-as-nickname.
Yes, I've dyed my hair...well, had it done professionally. Long story short: I'm a born dark brunette, but I was on TV as the "Dog Lady"--go ahead, laugh. I did the daily pet adoption spots in a large market. So, I went blonde for a few years. Now I'm old and my long, wavy hair is pure white.
Yes, and my stylist knows that when I retire, I'm dying my hair periwinkle to celebrate not having to have a "regular" color anymore. (Also, by then I'll be grey enough that we won't have to bleach it first).
For more than 25 years (ages 14ish to 40ish). Started out with blond highlights in the 80s, then both blond and reddish over the years. My haircut got shorter, I didn't get a chance to dye it between two haircuts, then it was gone! I was barely grey then, gotten much more over the decade since.
I love my grey hair. I don't think I will ever dye it again. My favourite is when the front part swoops up nicely like Captain Pike from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Yes! I had blue and green stripes on one side, in high school (but it was food colouring, so not permanent)...then I used peroxide on my bangs (turned orange, looked awful)...then dyed dark brown a few times in my late teens (eyebrows and eyelashes too, and a fake tan...it actually looked good!)
No, but I dressed as Professor Chaos for Halloween once and worked hard on making a cool costume with a homemade looking aluminium foil helmet and everything, and I chickened out from bleaching my hair to complete the look and I deeply regret that to this day.

Green, blue, fire engine red...
The pre-dye bleaching is always the hardest part to get right.

I might try again when my hair goes grey.
Rocking the all natural silver/grey/blond/ginger ??? now. 🤷🏼♀️
black "highlights" once, for fun. it was like tiger stripes in my red hair.
but not since then, my red hair is pretty phenomenal on its own!
