#NowPlaying
366 new-to-me albums in 2024.
Here's every album I discovered last year, one for every single day of the leap year.
What a journey it was, and I'm hoping for even better this year.
What's your favourite album or artist I found last year? And who should be next?

Others I’m guessing less likely to have listened to that I’d heavily recommend are Shakey Graves and Ween.
Potential other unheard? Micah P Hinson, Mew, Marlon Williams, Laura Gibson, Manchester Orchestra, Luluc, Radical Face, The Slow Show, Twilight Sad
Manchester Orchestra - A Black Mile To The Surface
Luluc - Passerby
Laura Gibson - Empire Builder / Goners
Gravenhurst - Flashlight Seasons / Fires In Distant Buildings
Shakey Graves - Can’t Wake Up / And The War Came
Ween - White Pepper / The Mollusk
Micah P Hinson - Pioneer Saboteurs / … And The Gospel Of Progress
Hooverphonic 🤩
I’d recommend ‘Apocalypso’ by Presets, ‘En-Tact’ by Shamen, ‘Counterfeit’ by Cirrus, ‘Sounds of the Satellites’ by Laika, and ‘Anjali’ by Anjali if any of these sound new.
Hooverphonic are great - and those recommendations are all new to me so will check out - thank you mate!
TV On The Radio
ABC
The WonderStuff
Madness
The Jam
Massive Attack
Portishead
The Naked and Famous
White Lies
Sea Power
The reason I chose ABC for my unknownpleasures challenge last year was to show there is more to them than just The Lexicon Of Love. Often took risks (didn't pay off every time) and tried something different. Definitely recommend another listen 👍
And anything that's compared to Depeche Mode will always pique my interest. Thank you Eoin!
Try Twilight Sad, Frightened Rabbit, The War On Drugs, they may be on here, but eyes no longer perfect.
Yo La Tengo
The Coral
The Boxer Rebellion
WH Lung
Lucy Dacus
Tomberlin
East Village
Laura Marling
October Drift
Bon Iver
Desperate Journalist

I would recommend Wine Pride’s album.
A few that I think might be worth your time.
And I've seen your love for Desperate Journalist this past few days - I'm very eager to hear them now. So much to get through - I can't wait!
🙌🎶👌
Suggest a bit of Shoegaze/Dreampop. Slowdive's best album (2023) general opinion:
What's your take on Stereolab?
Sound-dust (2001) is a beauty, &Cobra and Phases Groop Play Voltage in the Milky Night (1999). Early stuff is Dreampunk with drone loops, later stuff, Chemical Chords a bit bland.
Adding Sugarcoat by Blushing to my list - thank you!
