It's so sad how at this point most people literally can't even wrap their head around real journalism. It's just a totally foreign concept to them. We're beyond lucky to have you.
"The outcry grew over the course of several weeks, especially when journalist Taylor Lorenz highlighted the issue -- and a photo of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association CEO Kim A. Keck -- on Wednesday..."
I feel like Iβm beating a silent drum here - the only thing that was controversial about this was that the anesthesiologists group made it controversial. All that BCBS was saying was that they were going to require Anesthesiologists to bill according to CMS standards.
The ones that they have to follow for Medicare and Medicaid. Not anything radical. Not arbitrary. But every single news outlet seems to have swallowed the propaganda from the anesthesiologist professional group.
A group, I might add, who have made it a business to be out of network for many if not most of the hospitals they service and who have an average 400k a year income.
If you haven't already, please buy a subscription to Taylor's incredible newsletter User Mag. She's the voice of the people and I'm SO proud of her π₯Ή @taylorlorenz.bsky.social
