1.) Don't just encourage blanket resistance and "you gotta fight rawrghghgh." That's not how democratic senators tend to work politically. Indicate you understand the complexities of keeping the government open and the CR, but say that not restraining Musk and Trump is a dealbreaker.

I think emphasizing that a deal to keep the government open isn't a problem, i.e. "I'm not mad about the CR, I'm mad that nothing is being done to corral Musk and DOGE, and that congress would abdicate it's authority and power of the purse to pass something like this."

I think the point is more to have something to point to that the senator can do, rather than just saying "I want you to oppose everything all the time."

Because frankly, senators, especially democrats, usually aren't going to be on board with that.

But differentiating between "I want you to never vote for anything ever" and "listen, I have a really big problem with the fact that we aren't dealing with this and you have leverage right now and I want you to use it" is important! It lets the staff know that you really care about something.

2.) If you're going to do the normal, which is threaten primarying, etc. Then please make sure that you understand the construction of your states primary or caucus and -when- your senator is up for election next. If you know what's going on, the threat sounds a lot more real.
