I just came across the cutest Instagram page called gays_with_kids that shares photos of gay parents, itβs honestly so heartwarming to see. I hope Iβm on there one day ππ»

I donβt use instagram, but hereβs one of my daughter in a happy place wearing a hat she knit and with a kitty between her legs. Becoming a parent back in the 80's, as a lesbian was not easy. But I'm so glad I did!
Yes, I have seen it. Might watch it again. Most lesbian history has either been forgotten, destroyed, or hidden. Called many different things, female-female relationships have existed forever.
Yes, very sweet!
Our local meteorologist, Adam Joseph, is gay; he and his husband are parents to two adorable children. I just love seeing people sharing a real family bond.
My buddy from high school just shared a video of he and his husband officially adopting their 4 year old daughter. I wasnβt crying YOU WERE CRYING!! π₯°
I am so worried for our communities who traditionally have been vulnerable and now with children. I know a wonderful couple who live with their 3 children, in Kentucky. How far will this 2025 go?
I'm now 70+. I have 2 adult daughters from an unfortunate early marriage 52 years ago. The marriage broke up when the girls were still very young, and for many years I didn't see much of them except for school holidays. (We were living 1000 miles apart).
Even so, I had good relationships with both. Years later, when gay adoption was a hot topic in S Africa, one daughter wrote in a "letter to the editor" that "gay parents? I recommend them".
Her own children are now fiercely queer / trans supportive.
The other daughter, a teacher still in SA, once worked with the school librarian to ensure a suitable selection of age appropriate LGBTQ books were included on the library shelves.
LGBT people can certainly be parents - by circumstance, or by design.
Hope is an idea, but certainty creates reality. When you believe you will achieve something and feel the joy of already having it, you set it into motion. Donβt just hopeβfeel it deeply. The power of thought is transformative.

All the best.
