The Haunting (60s original, obvs), The Others and if you want more psychological horror that's on the milder end then Don't Bother To Knock is one of Marilyn Monroe's only thrillers (along with Niagara, which isn't creepy) and well worth a watch
My bad. I got Absentia confused with Somnia, which is the other title for Before I Wake. I believe Somnia was Mike Flanagan's chosen title but the studio wanted something less intellectual. It's about a foster family that takes in a young boy whose dreams can manifest.
saw it in the theater. i sat behind the high school sports star (he went on to be a first-string NFL quarterback). when the jump-scare moment hit he screamed like a child and came straight up out of his chair. i endorse this as one of the most fundamentally scary without gore movies of all time
Hey I know nobody asked me but this movie actually kind of scared the shit out of me? Which was surprising because I don’t generally scare easily and Richard Gere
Yeah I remember being pretty spooked by it as well. I actually had a weird irrational unease with washing my face for awhile after because I didn’t like having my face covered in water and unable to see in front of a mirror (iykyk 😅)

The 2022 one hadn't caught my attention originally but seeing as it's on Netflix I might check it out.
Some people have told me it's a bit too slow of a slow burn but it made my skin crawl in the best way when I first watched it.
The ARQ
And I might be alone on this, but I find 12 Monkeys super creepy.

Wait Until Dark (1967) is the scariest thriller of all time. It is TENSE.
I don't remember any gore but it's been awhile. Here's the link to doesthedogdie but there may be plot spoilers. https://www.doesthedogdie.com/media/13467
