You can tell they tried to come up with the best framing to make Mamdani look bad while also trying to mitigate the number of people calling them racist and Islamophobic
the narrative dynamic where republican voters are real americans whose concerns must be taken seriously no matter how bigoted or unhinged, while democratic voters are an an unruly mass of human detritus who need to be controlled and disciplined, is pervasive once you notice it
I actually think this is surprisingly tempered, they don't go after Zohran directly but merely dig up some dumb comments from random Nazis (most of whom have blue checks on Twitter, I wonder why...) and demand that he condemn them - by the standards of the ADL that's weak sauce
I mean several of the cited posts have nothing to do with antisemitism and are just observing that pro-Israel interests wanted him to lose, and it's a setback for them that he won
The ADL has lost its mind. It is absolutely a hysterical rant to equate being anti-genocide with being anti-semitic. Remember when being anti-genocide was anti-Nazi and pro-semitic? Also, incidentally, Palestinians are semitic by definition. Just saying, Israel looks pretty anti-semitic right now.
I'd argue that their 1930s-50s goal of destroying civil rights movements by inflitrating them to sell them out to the House Un-American Activities Committee or the millions they spent in the 1940s to dispossess Palestinians of their land might have been warnings too.
For sure they've always been... chaotic at best and an undemocratic organ of the military-industrial complex at worst. They sure love to spy on people and they were on the wrong side of history re: South Africa for the longest time. Greenblatt marks a shift in them going full Israeli govt puppet.
In that way I suppose they're a very American organization. "They've done a lot of good, but the way they do it makes them easily able to become fascist with the flick of a switch."
Hey friend, sorry to bother you. Please help me quote the tweet and donate even a dollar so I can buy some flour. My family eats wet flour and dry bread. Please don't ignore me. 😭🥺🙏🙏
Clearly antisemitism secretly propelled Zohran into the spotlight, and it had nothing to do with the fact that he was a coherent and a charismatic candidate running against a terrible mayor and a terrible former governor both of which come off very corrupt. Yep, the antisemites, that’s what did it.
Elon Musk can sieg heil on live TV and the ADL will "well, actually" his ties to Trump, but when Yasser_Arafattie69 tweets a 9/11 joke to his 11 followers it's an indictment of everyone to the left of John Fetterman.
Very subtle to post deranged Nazis saying stuff like "Jewish reptilians did 9/11" and put them in the same paragraph as some leftist account saying "a lot of well-known Zionist billionaires donated to Cuomo"
Zionists are eventually gonna become so deranged from clinging onto their unjustifiable beliefs that they're gonna start saying the holocaust was a good thing because it resulted in Israel.
Hot take maybe, but voting for a man of a different religious belief seems a lot less dire and creepy than tying the entire Jewish identity, religiously and ethnically, to a single region of land. Especially to such a degree that disagreements with that nation are seen as “antisemitic”
"Apparent win" reads with SUCH disdain. Like they're literally holding their hoses up high as they begrudgingly acknowledge it in the most passive aggressive tone they can summon.
He's at about 43.5% now. As the lowest candidates are eliminated he'll pick up a couple points. But a majority (winning) might not come till lander is knocked out (and it is fair to assume most of his 11% of 1st pick votes will then go to Mamdani)

They don't already?
I guess that's positive.
It is possible (though *extremely* unlikely) he won't win.
Which is odd.....but probably good in this case.
Zionism & Israel do not represent all Jewish people or their best interests. To claim otherwise IS Antisemitism.
