Aha! I've found it much easier from a web browser than via the app. Just managed to cancel my unused Amazon music subscription! Thank you for reminding me!
I’m pretty sure I could just cancel audible via my iPhone App Store subscription page with a couple of taps. The best way to setup and manage subs imo. Are you trying to do it via their website or something? They put really obtuse stuff on those to stop you leaving.
Mine wasn't too bad, though I did have to look up exactly where to go to cancel.
I'm in Australia (although it was an Audible US subscription). Perhaps they make it harder in certain jurisdictions, where there are less consumer protections?
I always cancel my audible subscription every so often because I actually use Audible for audible plus stuff like Partridge from the oasthouse and French and Saunders titting around etc, so it's nice when they give me free things to beg me not to go as the 2nd last step of cancel.
Hey Emma Sign in to Amazon on your laptop/MacBook don’t use the app. Type audible into the search and manage subscriptions should be part of the banner at the top before results. I’m always switching mine on and off
Been doing this for years. As soon as the discounted trial ends I go to the website & choose desktop view, I go to account details & click cancel subscription. Then I go back to a discounted link & sign up again. You can't sign up again until the month expires.
have so many times been on the point of subscribing and then withdrawn … their model needs to be more like spotify and netflix where you can stop and start easily…. not going to subscribe on this model!
A solution for managing auto renewal subscriptions: Use a free online banking service like https://Relay.io and set up a separate payment card for each vendor.
Had the pleasure of cancelling Mubi this month which was handled through Amazon. Took me *forever * to get to a page with the actual unsubscribe button 🤦♂️
Can you just cancel online accounts as easily as you can sign up in just a couple of clicks - no. Can you easily find how to cancel without being redirected to yet another unhelpful page - no. Can you ring an 0800 number and sit waiting whilst you watch paint dry - of course you can.
And even when you've cancelled all the payment options, through every medium you can think of, you still get emails telling you how many credits you have. I can't believe how difficult it is. It's what makes people hate Amazon.
I thought it was just me, I consider myself pretty tech savvy but I tied myself in knots trying. In the end I gave up and just paused my account. Can well and truly kicked down the road.

Fuck subscriptions.
I've been trying to cancel a gym subscription for near on a week.
Let me cancel it how I ordered it.
I feel like one country has this law?
