What if - and I'm just spitballing here - we did do all of those experiments, but do them simultaneously, everywhere. We could just keep continuously testing everyone everywhere until we find out the circumstances under which UBI causes harm.

i mean, we already did this during the pandemic and proved that the exact same people that decry government payouts were quite happy to get as many free loans from the the government as they possibly could. hypocrisy is not a bug with these folks, it's a feature.

We won’t know for sure until we test it with 100% of the population for a few separate generational lifetimes, so we have a lot of testing left to do before we could possibly rule it out.

Several years ago I was sick and ended up on early retirement because of it. When I started getting better, I started volunteering. As I got stronger I volunteered more. Before I quit because I got a full time job again, I was basically working full time hours as a volunteer. Because I wanted to.
