Agreed. Adult fun should not always be rigidly calendared—like play time for children. Like kids, grown folks need things that sparkle & shine in their lives. Happy New Year.
“I used to drive the M3 on aaaa Madison Avenue… and quite the celebrity would hop on..in fact one dayaaa..Morgan aaaaaa…Fairchild.. climbed up and handed me a cookie…it was fresh baked!! .. so she said.. and THEN.. right behind was aaa..Ricardo..aaa Montalban..yeah..that’s the ticket!”
Very pretty. Orthodox Christmas is coming so it's nice to see things still out. I plan on leaving my window candles in all winter. Things will be pretty dark soon so perhaps lighting a few candles to push it back will help and encourage. 💞🦆
Happy New Year! Thanks for all your activism. We had a friend in common, I think. Tom Hayden. He was more mentor than friend, really. I first met him as a teen at a Democratic Party telethon, volunteered on several of his campaigns, then for Campaign for Economic Democracy for some years—I miss him.
My dad's best friend, John Krawczyk, was a photographer in LA many years ago and took photos of you for a commercial shoot. It was so exciting when he showed me the proofs as a kid, I was in awe 😊
I don't recall but he was a really wonderful photographer, he had a studio in Burbank. He passed in 2006, but he led such a wonderful life! He served on the Nautilus Submarine when it went under the north pole. This is a photo of him from the Navy.
There are a handful of people who use the power that celebrity brings them to actually help people. You have been doing this for a long time and it gives me (and a whole lot more folks) 😁 hope. Thank you.
We keep a set going on our biggest deck so at night there’s ambient multi-color glow. No need for addl white lights. And, it’s totally cool setting with redwoods just 30’ away.
Boycott CNN January 19 and 20. There has to be a show of force to let legacy media know that there is power in numbers.

As much as I love the holidays, I always take my decorations down on January 2nd because I think it's important to get on with the new year. Having said that, I like seeing other peoples decorations linger through the month on January.
Our tree will be up until end of January balcony lights stay up indefinitely. Many neighbors have kept their lights/trees up as well. Happy New Year, Morgan
Not being sarcastic, but I noticed you're masked up. Is your area experiencing a surge in the virus? (I'm keeping track of hot spots so I can stay ahead.)
I always mask, as Covid has never gone away & I have many friends who are struggling with Long Covid. Also, my fiancé died of heart attacks from LC after his 3rd infection & I saw how it diminished him after each. Covid is surging now, & major Flu & Norovirus . I'm just careful
I don't blame you. The bird flu virus has made it into the animal reservoir, just like COVID, and it's just waiting for the time to erupt. Please keep being careful out there. (I will sometimes keep a clean mask in a bag of chocolate chip cookies so I can smell them while masked. ;) )
This has zero to do with lights but I wanted to thank you for being such a no F’s given liberal and such an astute follower of the craziness we’re subjected to. I’m a child of the 80’s and I guess I had a perception of you but the real you is so much better!
Funny we’re watching North and South right now! What a great mini series. I read all of John Jake’s books. Did working with Liz Taylor and Robt Michner intimate you? Have a safe and healthy New Year🥂
Not at all. It was a HUGE production, and I didn't have scenes with either of them, but Elizabeth and I flew into Charleston together (with Hal Holbrook and Dick Smith, the makeup man) on David Wolper's jet, so I did at least see her
We’re watching this on an 8 piece dvd set that I found at our lake house. We haven’t used our dvd player for so long and remote doesn’t work so I have to manually advance dvd; that’s how much we’re enjoying watching it! Looking forward to seeing you come into the storyline.
It reminds me of 2021 when, during Covid many neighbours kept their lights up for many winter months. Others joined in a movement to decorate their homes for Mardi Gras. In Canada, lol.
My grandmother always did it that way. But I took everything down yesterday…the holiday decorations start to feel a lot like clutter by this time of year.
2024 was such a horrible year for my family. With 3 family members dying and with the insane election of that terrible human. I put up porch lights that are always on…not just for Christmas. I need the twinkle right now ❤️
Felicidades from Spain, where we celebrate all 12 Days of Christmas & everyone is gearing up for the big 12th Night parades this evening in honor of the Magi/Reyes Magos, who are bringing gifts to the children (tomorrow, Epiphany, is a holiday).
I’m still getting the feels when I come home late at night from work and all the houses are still lit up. Maybe more so now because it seems more peaceful.
In Spain we stretch Xmas till Jan 6th, Three Kings' day, when, traditionally, kids get seasonal gifts. Guess it is just a trick to delay taking down all the decorations and lights. The festivity is being overriden by Xmas Day since new generations won't wait quietly for their presents for so long.
They might be celebrating the Feast of the Epiphany (3 Kings) on the 6th. Also known as Little Christmas, the last of the 12 Days of Christmas and end of tge Christmas season. Happy New Year, Morgan!
Ditto. It’s important to start after the special Thanksgiving celebration,IMHO. I also think it makes each holiday special, joyous&uplifting& supports each one’s unique purpose.
Great pic, and good to see that more people are keeping the holiday lights longer. The homes in our street too are still lit up and it is a beautiful sight.

This just picked me up from a really crummy day.
Thank you🌸
when the WISE MEN SHOWED UP - lights on to guide them

I love when I see this where I live.
I've always had my own rule that lights should be up at least through all of January - to welcome the first month of the new year. 😃
🙏🏻💙🕊️
If y'all rip all your decorations down the day after Christmas, you are a huge disappointment to me.
May this year bring us all happy surprises and more love than we could have imagined.
Protection for yourself and others.
There's lots of winter bugs around. 👍
