In my day you couldn’t get one till basic training was darn near complete. Guys had to shave every day with horrible ingrown hair issues. That looked like torture.

Oh! I didn't know the name, but I'm pretty sure I have that. Extremely curly facial hair (looks like it belongs in Greece or Afghanistan), & I get cystic acne if I shave.

Since I'm heavily immunocompromised, that can be life threatening, so I get it trimmed but not all the way to the skin.
