Our cat came home today! Thin as a rake but whole and purring and hasn't left laps all night.
Not sure how she found her way home after four weeks but she did ❤️❤️❤️

We had the same thing happen years ago, with our friendly but aloof tortoiseshell. When she came home, skin and bones, we fed her and nursed her back. She slept at night nestled under my arm like a teddy bear the rest of her life. 🥲
Why?
This is a long
Good luck!!

at several places around, with a bowl of water and food if possible. Then check those as often as you can. The scent can help them find their way to it. Not all dogs/cats have equal sense of direction, but they can all smell pretty well.
Nice to hear good news!
So, if you don't care about native wildlife, maybe you care about that?

It’s a shame they can’t tell us about their adventures.
Wishing you and your kitty all the best!

I remember a book from my youth that I believe was called “Incredible journey” about a dog and a cat(s) that went on a journey.
I think it was made into a movie.
Yes, I think that was it. (I never watched the movie, just read the book).
Distraught.
After weeks alone we packed up the kitty litter box and the food bowls.
Another few weeks...night. Heard scrambling in the tree outside of 2nd story flat. Opened the window.
Home. Joy.
I worked for a lost and found animals site years ago. There was a cat that made it home by way of word of mouth from little neighborhood kids. After NINE years! She was only two blocks away the entire time, shared between four families.🙂Never underestimate kids at finding pets!
Never underestimate kids-they love a hunt, especially if you tell them your kitty is lost and needs to come home and might be scared. They still have empathy and will truly look, and tell their friends too. They also know the hiding places in the area!
Happy your cat made it home.
Finally a feel good story in this crappy world of ours.
Im sure there are many plenty of catch up sessions ><
But also, all the hugs and treats!
I adopted Maisie when she was 1 yr old. A good Samaritan found saw her walking on the street & took her to the Morris Animal Shelter. I lucked out & adopted the sweetest little girl, but her original owners probably still worry about her.
One of our lads vanished last year, only when we put out trailcams did we realise he was just frolicking in the fields for 3 months.
Had to trap him in the end!
So is the cat! 💚💙🩵
NO. They don’t need the outdoor experience.
They live longer lives if you keep them inside.
Please?
Please keep cats indoors or in a Catio or a backpack or leash.
What is happening is selfish.
IMO this cat is not well cared for.
I agree we should change this thinking now, but there are ways to say it.
In summer, the garden is her happy place.
It's the only place she will come if called. I love finding her under the rhubarb or in the mint.
She will die in that garden if attacked by a predator or hit by a vehicle. It’s obvious she almost starved when she was gone. Build a catio.
Talk about projection.
NO ANIMAL should live indoors? Take a deep breath. People who keep their dogs outside 24/7 are called abusers.
NO ANIMAL was born to use a litter box? You just don’t want to clean it.
You're nuts.
And fortunately, you do you, I do me.
👋
My petite white cat was gone for two weeks. One afternoon she walked down the driveway toward me. She was dusty, thin and had a few bites about the ears. She was a cat I found; I guess I really need a cat and she was the deepest cat ever I sheltered.
Had that many times, too
🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
She will be back on the road to recovery very soon. ❤️
Good girl! Beautiful. ❤️
I'm glad she's home where she'll be loved.
Fingers crossed your cat comes home soon!
