If you had a vote who would you vote for, she said trump straight away.
I said why, her response was that he's all over tiktok and he's funny. Scared me that
We need antisocial media laws ASAP.
Brexit vote ,I guess was the first time the UK saw the influence of dis/mis information
Have they ever travelled on a train in the morning and seen all the bent necks?
Social media is undermining democracy, society and the rule of law.
Falsehoods, lies, etc should all face consequences, just like anyone spreading hate etc
I think it will happen, it's inevitable. The Law always has to play catch-up.
The algorithm and the ability of controlling one owns feed should be developed to promote democracy, justice, reasonable debate and human empathy
Not the twisted narrative preferred by a bored billionaire
GOP_UK (PKA the tories) controlled by 55 Tufton St, co-ordinated with the GOP_USA
Reform and that bloke who avoids Clacton
Foreign owned UK Press and online news outlets
All those SM Platforms
Rant over !!!!!
Headlines later......
IMHO it is basically witness intimidation. We need to have full ability to control social media companies. To the point immediate withdrawal of posts/reposts, publish warnings for posts/reposts and shut or suspended their operation.

Its a brainrot engine dispensing complete bollocks directly at a mainly young and impressionable audience.
Removing these viewpoints now is much harder.
Trump 2.0.
The rise of the far right.
Kid’s lost to mind-numbing screens.
The Australian government is trying to do this but all the Namby-Pamby’s are up in arms about ‘Free Speech’.
I’d like someone to splain me, since when did lies and misinformation become ‘Free Speech?’
Australia isn’t America, yet!
😡
NRB News Regulation Board who will fine or better close down misinformation channels newspapers radio and tv 👏👍
If we boil down the article it says there’s no evidence of anything, but the losing side says it’s TikTok’s fault (despite having its own TikTok presence).
Those wishing to fight the rise of far right rhetoric need to grow up.
We have to make sure they are essentially “honest” and we know they aren’t.
We also have to ensure they do what they promised and not simply say “if they didn’t, vote them out next time”.
We need accountability.
Disinformation and the very dangerous people responsible have smashed up the rule book, they won’t ever stop.
Time to get tough before it’s too late.
People hate being told they were duped and don't even try to imply they're less than clever or all hell breaks loose but the fact remains that intelligent, manipulative forces will have their way with the majority of people every single time
As imbalanced as it occasionally can be, as much as the networks are owned by oligarchs, they’re incomparable to the Chinese-owned, addictive, misinforming mess of Tik Tok.
This is true of newspapers, and true of social media.
