The question is, are the deal terms generous enough for some of that $ to trickle all the way to the bottom to you?

You ever seen a movie p&l statement? 30% goes right off the top to “distribution”. P&A is a shitload of soft money that often goes to associated branches of the corporate structure. There’s a reason studios usually settle when big directors pick these fights.

I think that yes it's a bias writing but it's also just shows the bias in general. Certain media seem to have gotten or think they have gotten more support from one studio over the other and so when that studio has something it's always shot down. Look at the DC/Warner hate already with Superman.

He's the 27th highest-grossing film director of all time (26th if you treat the Russos as a single director). No one who has grossed more has directed fewer than six movies.

I think studios might even be okay with a bomb at this point.
