Lot of weird pedants in the replies smugly insisting politicians have always lied as much as "alternative facts" maga and y'all must have all been born yesterday if you really belive that 🚩
Believe it or not, it was up until Trump came along. Before that politicians would shade or equivocate right up to the line, but you'd almost never see an outright whopper. Trump broke that.
I dunno what politics you’ve been watching but in 45 and every president during my lifetime lied whenever convenient. Trump is worse, sure, but presidents been lying all along.
Colin Powell lied to the UN that he had anthrax in his hand. Weapons of mass destruction. Everything that created the patriot act and the democrats and republicans fostering the lies that kept us in war the majority of the time I’ve been alive. I’ve never seen this time you speak of. I’m 34
Given the fellow is a polisci prof, and given but a cursory glance at things like Tonkin, Iraq, etc., the irony of the post is that it's an utter lie.

I guess one could say that those "legitimate" lies of the past were bipartisan (liepartisan). e.g. smirking Matt Miller and John Kirby on the "Israel has a right to defend itself" genocide in Gaza. The Trump lies are even unpalatable to the other faction of the oligarchy.
Like I can appreciate what the guy is going for, this administration has definitely gotten more brazen with peddling obvious falsehoods but like this has been the conservative MO for ages
Days that never were. But there were rules about what was considered an acceptable lie. The lies had to be plausible. And there were consequences if nobody believed the lie. These lies are infantile lies, transparent falsehoods offered as "alternative facts" with punishments for the nonbelievers.
So what about the war in Iraq. What about WMDs? They lied to everyone’s face. Please stop lying to yourself. It just lets the other side lie even more.
So, close the base. They dismantled so many in California, sold them off, if they’re displeased with their ability to have a secure installation there, pack up. Which they won’t do, & globally no democrat nation will abide by us playing “take a country” using RU’s rules. They can f-off with his bs.

Greenland aren’t protecting themselves very well and seem ripe for a takeover, therefore to protect them we shall invade and take them over?
Make it make sense, please.
I’m sorry facts hurt your feelings
I’m sorry you can’t handle reality

Honestly we could do a whole one of these for just Reagan.
