Judge orders nationwide preliminary injunction of anti-DEI executive orders. "Plaintiffs’ irreparable harms include widespread chilling of unquestionably protected speech." www.justsecurity.org/wp-content/u...

When @nytimes.com participated in the Trump Guantanamo Bay propaganda show with glamour shots by Doug Mills, did they even bother to report that people were being detained illegally

I literally reported this Wednesday.

Chicago is unrivaled

David's right: Dump your damn tesla "We can boycott the companies of Musk & his fellow anti-democratic, anti-free speech, anti-US, anti-Western, billionaires. We can stop...stop right now...supporting them. We can encourage everyone we know to do the same." Read @djrothkopf.bsky.social ⤵️

This reminds me of "Alone in Berlin," one of the best fictional accounts of resistance to the Nazis. Highly recommended if you haven't read it yet. www.penguin.co.uk/books/57572/...

Elon Musk has plans for Wisconsin, and they start with electing his bag man, Brad Schimel, to our highest court. Musk wants to ensure he can prevent any check on himself and Trump from the states, and he's starting here in Wisconsin. We need to stand up to Musk, together. buff.ly/3YRqw0V

And why is it always up to women to speak up. Kudos to her

Gee, why isn't DOGE flagging this as wasteful spending? www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

Rep. Jason Crow: “The purge of senior officers at DOD is deeply troubling, but purging JAG officers worries me the most. “JAG officers interpret law for our commanders. They help determine what's lawful and constitutional. “Replacing these military lawyers with Trump loyalists is so dangerous.”

I'm about to drop a piece at The Atlantic on this Pentagon purge. As I warned, Trump is capturing Justice, Intelligence, the military. This is praetorianism, pure and simple.

Another clip with former NFL Player Chris Kluwe @chriswarcraft.bsky.social arrested for civil disobedience this week in the face of his MAGA city council. HERE he talks about why, in the ensuing publicity he rejected an interview ask from the New York Times (he says exception for @jamellebouie.net)

And there it is. How Musk or any private person took over satellites shouldn’t have happened

Three things that make the U.S. the envy of the world: 1) Professionalized military with strong norm of civilian control 2) Higher education and cutting-edge scientific research 3) Ability to welcome immigrants and attract the “best and the brightest” All three are under threat.

Sure Trump fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the CNO....but they fired the top JAG's in the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Why would you fire the top lawyers in the armed services at night on a Friday? That's the part you should be freaking out about.

The writers room has really outdone itself this time.

“I’m in West Virginia — My insulin went from $6 to $80”

Remember when John Roberts gutted the Medicaid expansion because he said the *offer* of medicaid money was too coercive to the states bsky.app/profile/atru...

I bash @nytimes.com @cnn @washingtonpost.com a lot so I wanted to boost this type of local reporting. It’s accurate, relevant and direct. Thank you @henry-redman.bsky

Really good reporting

There’s not a word in this story about the corrupt nature of this dismissal. Not a concern voiced, not a question raised, not even an acknowledgment that he’s the president’s biggest donor and he’s acting as an unelected, unconfirmed tyro wielding unchecked power over spending and the civil service.

"Placing a giant muzzle on our journalistic watchdogs is a means to an end, which is American monarchy." @willbunch.bsky.social connects the dots between Trump's attack on the press and his authoritarian goals. Give it a read.

WIRED spoke to current employees at 13 federal agencies for this story who expressed fears about potentially being monitored by software programs, some of which they described as unfamiliar. www.wired.com/story/survei...

I see we have another sweetheart deal for the co-president

There have been 11 aviation disasters, including 3 commercial airline crashes, in one month of the Trump administration. 90 people have been killed, yet Trump just fired hundreds of FAA employees. We created a resource to track aviation disasters and any future cuts to aviation safety.

So the #guantanamo tents were all for show and @nytimes along with their Trump PR photographer #DougMills all complied with the stunt. So how much did it cost

happy friday! just leaving this here...

This is how to be an ally to the trans community. Also, this isn't just an ex NFL player, he's the first punter ever inducted into the hall of fame.

I respect FIRE’s legal advocacy but reporters really need to stop using FIRE’s rankings unless you truly believe that campus speech is most free in southern states that have banned ideas and concepts from being taught in the classroom

This week two GREAT examples of Democrats punching Trump in the face: 1. Ill Gov Pritzker to Trump: “We don’t have kings in America, and I don’t intend to bend the knee to one” 2. NY Gov Hochul: "New York hasn't labored under a king in over 250 years. We sure as hell are not going to start now."

Someone better tell DOGE there’s this guy working from home
