do those little tags you can buy to put on something you're afraid to lose for instance your keys work in places where there's limited or no cell coverage?

It’s Bluetooth so yeah it should work in that scenario, so long as the app controlling it is smart enough to cache the devices you own in the even cell data isn’t available
if it's an airtag, even if they're left somewhere without cell coverage and you aren't nearby, if someone with an iPhone walks past it'll see it and report back once it can talk to apple
i don't know what UWB Is but it sounds like it's something that isn't reliant on being connected to wifi or anything, more like the signal a remote control uses maybe?
it's a special and bizarre method of short range radio communication used for the "precision finding" feature that puts an arrow on the phone screen pointing to the tag. basic tag stuff uses Bluetooth Low Energy
I want ones with their own cell connection so you can check in with them, where you at? "Oh I'm at your house specifically, here's a noise" is different from "I'm the next state over because someone stole me, but I'm right here"
Ok that's p good but what do I do if I hate apple and everything they make for personal reasons, spite? You don't have to answer this but thanks that's still p good
absolutely, I hate them on principle and respect you for living up to your standards! I’m weak willed and use an iphone bc of imessage mostly, but I hope there’s a similar non apple solution in the world soon 🤩
We do what we can with what we have, I'm a nerd it's easier for me, my condolences. Glad for weird networking world of surveillance to be working for some, if not me!
I lose my keys every day and since air tagging them I don’t lose them anymore which is a miracle, however, the sound the AirTag makes is really quiet, and somehow seemingly comes from all directions at once. It’s very hard to locate. But it solved my problem.
