It’s strange to me how many people don’t have some idea of what they would risk death for. That anyone who would do it for something other than themselves or their family is beyond their comprehension

I know exactly what I’d risk death for. The first Trump administration taught me that. Only reading this made me remember not everyone does. How else can a person be now?
It feels like every day demands we answer that question. Over and over and over. I can’t escape its gaze. It’s hard to remember what it’s like to be able to not look into its eyes.
When you start realizing who only views the present situation as to how it affects their household, that their vision is all built on assuming nothing will reach them, you know who’s not gonna be there for you
