A true chaos monkey could be so much more clever. They could become educated and then say things like:
"Oh your Jewish? Do you like sweet pickle or dill pickle relish on your latkes?" and then ride away cackling on their tamed small boulder the size of a large boulder to the Island of Spanish frogs.
It's not about religion. They hate us whether we're religious Jews or atheist Jews; and whether they're religious Christians, religious anythings, or atheist anythings. They just hate us, period. Their anti-Semitism comes Christian flavored, Muslim flavored, atheist flavored, rightists, leftists...
It's really heartbreaking being lectured to about the importance of imaginary gods and their instructions to kill or marginalise people, watching the world torn apart by arguments over them only to die and forget it all.
Too many white atheists have the frustrating habit of repeating the same culturally Christian viewpoints of the religion they claim they’re not a
part of. That they view ALL traditions and religions to be as harmful as evangelical Christianity and with zero nuance irks me.
There are an unfortunate number of atheists that have adopted evangelical talking points and arguments, and find themselves allies with evangelicals against other atheists.
Those people should be asking why.
I dunno, I think a lot of it is ego. Atheism as a cause has waned in recent years. Personally, I was on that, but I moved to more pressing concerns. Some public figured, I think, want to be the center of attention again.
"I oppose all religions"
Which is why you oppose Jewish people at least a quarter of the time instead of like 1% of the time that would actually be proportionate, while giving Christians disproportionately little guff?

And it is not disparaging anyone to point out that it is a problem when atheists promote bigotry.
Bigotry against a person or people that believe in an ideology is not okay.
It is important to know the difference.
