5/ USIP decides to suspend the services of their security contractor, Inter-Con, because of fears that they may be pressured by DOGE. Inter-Con acknowledges suspension.

6/ There is it. Inter-Con contractor told USIP head of security that "DOGE threatened to cancel every federal contract Inter-Con held" if they didn't assist the break in.
By comparison, it really was that “mere second rate burglary”, and all to try and influence an election that was long since in the bag for the Republicans anyways, by finding dirt on one single person.
But they won't. Republicans, once the party of law and order, seem to be completely ok with everything Trump and his goonies are doing to the country;
-attacking judges when they rule against Trump -> 👍
-deporting people without any check on their identity or wrong doings -> 👍
-Tesla dealership 👍
If what DOGE is doing is illegal, I suspect that federal employees would be justified in using lethal force to keep them out of their offices. That's what the Second Amendment is for.
At least, that’s what the NRA has been claiming for years as reasons for unrestricted rights to own guns. Defense against tyranny and stuff. Amazing how quiet the NRA has been since Trump took over.
It's just a matter of time before there are enough rulings against DOGE and enough clarity about the threat they pose, and some federal office will defend itself by force of arms. And all that Second Amendment rhetoric will be useful.
Good point. But, equally, large scale public demonstrations are what history shows to be the way to bring down fascist governments. We outnumber them. And in that context the gun rhetoric from the right wing may well come back to haunt them.
This is a great example of how cops are no protection at all against any real, organized threat. They will instinctually align themselves with the strongest force and against the weaker side. That's why they tackled parents in Uvalde, not the shooter. The shooter had their respect. Parents did not.
So they sacrificed the contracts and didn't help with the break in, right? When will people, especially those in a position of power, sacrifice something to stop these grifters?
@maxwellfrost.bsky.social Will the Oversight Sub-Committee on Gov. Operations be looking into who authorized these activities and how they were paid for? Is the chair, Rep. Sessions, okay with the use of tax payer funds for these alleged criminal actions?
This is so F’d up that I couldn’t possibly foresee this sequence of events. I’m flabbergasted. And it’s so much worse, there’s a lot to unpack here, but there seems to be a whole big sticking pile of lies and DOGE seems to have things to answer for.
Hell. What’s going on? My father-in-law worked years to get the legislation passed while he was a U.S. Senator. It was signed by Reagan. I can’t stop crying. It was his signature on the Nation.
So now how does anyone trust this company with their security? Ever? Knowing how quickly Inter-Con would break their contract and stop providing security to save themselves? I would think all their contracts are going to be canceled now anyway. I certainly wouldn’t trust them.
I just posted a negative Yelp review to Inter-Con that mentions this. (Their rating was 2 stars, anyway.) If people want to get in some good trouble, I'd suggest finding the Yelp pages for Inter-Con & bombarding them with bad reviews.
I wonder this too although I imagine they would have (or should have) called their boss to OK a request like this. Not saying that this was a request they should have granted because now their entire reputation is tarnished
How is any of this even remotely legal? Under what authority does Doge have to enter into a private establishment by force?
So what, there are Trump administration 'Brown Shirts" running around now criming? And does Schumer still believe we're not in a Constitutional crisis /yetstill?
It's not legal. No one is claiming any of it is legal. They are claiming that Trump has the divine right of kings and nothing can constrain, certainly not laws made by Congress
This is fukn nuts. It's like I went to bed and woke up in Russia. But yeah, it was more a rhetorical question.
I agree with the analysis. Trump's gonna have to pardon all his goons b4 he leaves office, lest they risk prosecution by a Democratic administration/AG.
My friend, please, the war has returned again, and I am helpless now with my family in the street, trying to escape death. My friend, I need you, don’t ignore me, we are dying. 😭🙏 Donate to me via the link, even five euros would mean a lot to us. 😭🙏

Quaint indeed.

Just dreaming, I know there’s no chance in hell of amending the constitution in favor of rule of law at this point.
Read that again.

DOGE did not tell them a damn thing. A specific person told them that and needs to be named so they can be charged with this mess.
#SHUTDOWNDOGE
This looks like looting to me.
What crime is Ed Martin about to refuse to charge these bastards with?
So many lies in so many DOJ filings at this point.
