What remarkable content you create... 🥰 Back in the days I was amazed by the ascreenshots of this game: the mountain theme was new for me and generated some awesome views. The "drift thing" wasn't something I would understand at first, but it became a trend.

iirc there was a Mario Party game that had to be recalled in the UK for using the word. Most UK releases obviously use the US localisation so nobody thought to change it https://mcvuk.com/business-news/mario-party-8-recalled-over-offensive-word/

In the UK, it’s one of the most ableist words you can say (or not say)

Just finished it! Great work as usual. It's a little far afield but Peak Performance, once you get over the initially-hilarious cover art, is a really yinteresting localization! They got rid of the (apparently vast) story mode of the JP version, but added a rather faithful Pikes Peak stage and cars!

As a corollary, 20+ years ago when I was in that life, the game "just called Touge" was actually spoken really highly of by folks. Real ones know, I guess.

The part where you mention how so many Japanese Saturn games didn't get localized made more sense to me in recent years as I have dug into the combined Beep! Mega Drive/Sega Saturn Magazine/Dreamcast Magazine/Dorimaga publication, the SoA '97 fiscal document leak, and closer analysis of the timeline

Like, past me was annoyed at how games like Sakura Taisen didn't get released or how Grandia made it on the PS1 but skipped the Saturn. And then a more thorough analysis of the era with all my game history nerd research showed that, yeah, what we got on the Saturn in the US was a miracle at all.
