No Western representation (someone already said that)
Eliminating Women and Gender as a Ministry
What the hell is government transformation supposed to do? I smell austerity
Most of the women have secondary departments
What is Canadian culture? Sounds nationalistic
2 of 3 Black Ministers gone
CANADA'S CULTURE? This countries culture has been profiting from American foreign interference, while pretending we are somehow morally superior. We have been raping and pillaging for generations while convincing ourselves that we are the "good guys"
Canada would have prospered regardless of who our neighbor was. We stayed out of Iraq and didn't participate in their intrigues. We are not perfect, but our country is worth protecting and preserving against US influence
So we stayed out of Iraq? Which actually we sent JTF2 , but is that the argument? Of course we need to protect ourselves, however it's beyond hypocritical to pretend that we ignored their blatant violations of international law for decades and profited of of it.
All the while claiming we stand for human rights and "peace keeping". The point is we as CANADIANS. NEED TO LEARN to hold our leaders to account for breaking human rights and international law. We never did. Now we're finding out. This bizarre belief that we are "better " needs to stop.
He also eliminated the Ministry of Diversity, Inclusion & Persons with Disabilities.
This doesn't bode well for disabled people being included in efforts to relieve extreme financial distress under this trade war. As with covid, likely only the economically "productive" will be protected somewhat.
Whatever's left of it is now rolled into the Ministry of Jobs & Families.
Which is ironic, bc they already expected us to either get jobs (which, even if we *can* work, employers aren't interested in us—espec if we need accommodations), or relying on families who may not be able or willing to help.
...which dangerously collide into eugenics, but it seems like most Canadians aren't ready to hear that word in a Canadian context, or anything short of the most extreme methods.
This cabinet is practical & designed to keep Canada working through the transition and election period. Canada's main focus right now is to get through this Trump nonsense without losing our country. We are at war with a hostile nation. PMMC has never signaled that he would abandon these groups.
If "to keep Canada working" a government abandons its most vulnerable people, it's doing it wrong and it will fail spectacularly. That's how it starts a recession and loses people's trust, and gets behind in health, science and culture.
YUP. Conditions have been VERY bad for most disabled Cnds for so long now, in many ways worse than what mainstream Canadians fear experiencing during the trade war. Yet we stand to fall even further into danger.
Who knows how long *this* crisis will last? How long are disabled ppl expected to wait?
Minister Jonathan Wilkinson is from North Vancouver - Capilano in British Columbia so there is one for Western Canada. There is no representation from the Prairies unless you consider Manitoba part of the Prairies and they have one.
Loving your analysis otherwise - keep it up! Very disappointing to see elimination of Women, Seniors, and People with Disabilities from Ministerial portfolios. Among many reasons, as if these aren't significant voting blocks for the upcoming federal election.

So, as usual, the Liberals will abandon disabled people, like they did when Covid began (see CERB).

We dont have a single MP in Sask who isn’t CPC so I don’t know who he’d pick. Maybe someone who is unelected?
There are two Alberta liberals he could have picked from.
