Thanks for links. If AUKUS is, rather than a Morrison thought bubble, more like an expensive signal of our greater subservience to the US, expanding bases in Perth & Darwin in exchange for one day getting a sub or two, it will take a lot of independent strategic thinking to unwind. Hard to see it.

I couldn’t agree more! In fact if Coalition were to have a policy to cut our losses and quit this absolute crap of a deal I’d vote for them. Biggest own goal in #auspol history IMO. It makes Abbott’s plan to buy 12 subs from Japan look genius by comparison.

It's my low key conspiracy theory that Aus defence establishment is full of actual US assets, and total groupthink led by these traitors. They cannot conceive of an independent Australia.
