Academics, telling an early-career scientist that "ecological data is complex & needs to be cleaned and managed prior to analyzing it" is probably a bad look. I mean, I dunno, if I was talking to a peer who works w/ larger datasets, I wouldn't jump to the assumption that's something they don't know
