Well he obviously doesn’t need their donations anymore. And now that he and Musk have a backdoor into the Treasury, they can access all their taxes and just put it into some offshore account or something. So that’s neat. No messy campaign finance laws there!
This is just a ploy for them to give him an NFL franchise that he's coveted since before he/USFL sued the NFL so he can print money and benefit from the same tax breaks. Wonder what @jeffpearlman.bsky.social take would be on this.
My post was partly in jest, but as Rupert Murdoch has shown, the ultrarich will do what whatever it takes to further their empire/legacy until their dying breath. There are very few Chuck Feeneys out there. Also, Woody Johnson has been his biggest fundraiser. This would hurt him too.
just remembered that he's hanging out with NFL owners at the Superbowl.
probably going to tweet a change in this policy before the game's over after one conversation with any NFL owner, because he know they all look down on him, and he has no backbone to fight anyone with actual resources.

Sports franchise owners are the richest of the rich. These teams are toys.
They shouldn't get a fucking tax break.
The fact they all donated to their executioner just makes it sweeter.
However, I don’t think we’ve ever had an administration that needed therapy (or just parental affection) more than this one.

Although I would have felt bad for Bills fans, no way they're in the AFC championship this year with Trump for an owner.
Like was that my life's Sliding Doors moment?
Hmmm... I'm just gonna go walk into the sea with rocks in my pockets now, later gators!
