And so it follows that if there happened to be a musical movement that might falsify your claim ... it simply *isn't* significant. Correct?

I'll confess: I am white. And I do have an opinion. I think if a lot of the MAGA racists looked back on their lives, they'd discover that the soundtrack of those lives consisted of a LOT of Black music.
No one’s getting crazy. But the world extends beyond the US, and the black musicians who made the music that you are referring to would not agree either. They absorbed Gypsy music (excuse the term) that had its origin in Rajasthan, they integrated classical music, German Folk songs, whatever.
Where would those incredible movements be had the black musicians who created them had as closed minds as to ignore the cultural traditions that preceded and surrounded them? I’m NOT minimizing anything here, just confused by your stance and the certainty behind it.
It would be one thing if they were coming at you with examples of cross-pollination between (for example) Steppe people and Siberian Inuits that have an audience of tens of millions but as is, the responses are all “you used EVERY, what about Greensleeves” and then:
You kinda did when you posted it on a public forum. If you'd written it on your own bathroom walls in faeces it probably wouldn't have got any attention. Aside from family members and maybe a health practitioner
These people are literally just trying to diminish Black art as usual. It’s disgusting. None of modern American music or pop culture for that matter would exist without the creativity of Black people from all over the diaspora. They probably don’t even know what Blues music is.
I think yall just look for a tiny opening in peoples statements because you’re bored and lonely. He’s clearly referencing music we all currently listen to (not counting the classical music from back in the day) idk fam I took History of Rock and Roll and that’s for sure black created and powered.
I think you are being an arse. It’s a discussion. Many of us do currently listen to classical music. It’s a vibrant scene. The BBC Proms sell out a large arena for many nights every summer, often with a couple of thousand people standing too.
In fact it's very clear he doesn't just mean modern music that we listen to, there's a whole separate 1 word paragraph at the bottom of his post to prove this. But that's a low blow to call people lonely just cos scrolled further down than you and read it properly
I browsed the comments and most are juvenile and weirdly aggressive. Quoting Bach as being influenced by BB King is missing the point of the post. It is remarkable how fundamental jazz and blues have been to western music and how much they have been a source of American cultural hegemony.
Don’t forget jazz is plenty based on European music. When the original commentor suggest all musical anything is an attributed to one anything, they are asking for this in return.
Music isn’t created in a vacuum. We are in a post-modern era of music. Black artists disproportionally contributed to the progress of American music throughout history for sure, but we’re all on this musical journey together. White audiences fill stadiums for Black artists.
When you post something that’s probably incorrect, people are going to call you on it. If you were to add the modifier “American” in your original statement, it would be 100% correct.
I don’t think Beethoven had any exposure to black people.
there’s writing out there about his exposure to black people. there has also been exploration into the blackness in his family that history has tried to hide. I dont claim to know the truth, but just sharing with you what I have heard & seen over the years.

Of course you did. Might have been by accident but don't post thoughts if you don't want opinions.
And, I am sure Vivaldi enjoyed a bit of dub while writing the Four Seasons.
Answer carefully

Since the weirdos can't manage to stay quiet, it just makes it easier for me to know who to block 😁👉🏽🎯🗑‼️
If you read further into the topic you’re talking about, you’d best hope that a “white person” doesn’t come and fact check you.
My guy you made a stupid statement on a public forum and aren't expecting responses? And you wanna talk about people being weird.

Now, please tell me how Brahms was influenced by black music.
He has not clearly referenced anything at all.
A lonely (trying hard to be liked) young woman.
You can turn off replies/make it so people can't reply? I think?
Unfortunately, I don't know how to do that, I just know you can. I've seen others do it. The speech bubble gets grayed out.
🤷♂️
Best of luck!
See? Weirdly aggressive.
I don’t think Beethoven had any exposure to black people.
