An idle thought, but new episodes of The Pitt, Severance, and Yellowjackets dropping in the Thursday/Friday area has really made the early weekend a nexus of TV discussion for the first time in a long time.

How is The Pitt? Severance is on something I don't have and don't want, but can't remember. Prime or Disney.
I haven't watched it, but I have _only_ heard good things.
Good to know. Thank you. It's on Crave, which I only have for Yellowjackets.
The Pitt is excellent! A combination of ER and 24
The Pitt is very good!
Don’t forget Wheel Of Time too!
And it’s glorious!
Just a couple of years ago, you kind of _had_ to be on Sunday, but HBO also owned Sundays. Feels good that a lot of platforms have opened up other nights and made Friday the new Sunday.
And it's not like people aren't talking lots about White Lotus and Righteous Gemstones on Sundays! It's good for the medium to have the shows people want to talk about spread out a bit. It makes everything feel more manageable.
Revenge of the water cooler discussion!
Reminds of that sweet spot of ER airing on Thursdays and X-FILES on Friday.
With the early drops Thursday (especially for west coasters) it feels like the return of Must See TV, but across several networks. I love it.
I would also recommend When Life Gives You Tangerines on Netflix, releasing its final four episodes of 16 this Friday. It is pretty spectacular and might be the best of the year, transcending kdramas.
Noah Wyle is a ED doc on Thursday nights and I feel like my sense of TV has balanced.
Make it 1997 again!
Didn't even take science OR magic! Party like it's 1999!!
Yup. I was just thinking I’m headed back to the 80s and 90s when the days of the week had meaning because of what was on when. Now a week seems a very long time to wait.
I have really missed this.
The more streamers rely on ads the more they’d be shifting to Thursdays though, given that at least traditionally was the day with the highest average ad rates.
I do wonder if this has shifted since so much of the Thursday rush was ads for movies coming out that weekend, and there's less of that nowadays.
True, true. Or places like Blockbuster & restaurants that used to be more of a weekend thing than they are now.
And White Lotus on Sundays!
must see tv huh ok lets go
The Pitt and Gemstones do that for me
From April 20-May 13 there will be a Last of Us episode on Sundays and three Andor episodes every Tuesday.
It’s nice to be able to take a break and just geek out with friends about great tv.
I'm actually incredibly ok with this because we tend to do most of our watching on the weekends. Plus, being in Australia, the big American Sunday night shows have always been a Monday evening thing, given the time zone difference.
Not to mention Adolescence, Paradise, The Residence, and Deli Boys - oh and if you like The Pitt, check out Krank (on Apple TV)
Agree. Each night needs room for discussion. I like that streamers are more often releasing episodes weekly. Binging old shows is fine. Something like Succession needs to be digested.

really glad you’re here on Bluesky @emilystjams.bsky.social Heard you on Lovett and I’m an instant fan.
Man that Pitt!
A big Yellowjacket fan. ⚽️ As soon as it drops at midnight on Friday, I watch it. There’s only three more episodes left to find out who’s the stalker. 🤞🏻 for S4.
Those 3 shows really got my heart rate going on Friday!!!!!

This season of Yellowjackets has been so suspenseful and GOOD and I wish it was Friday again already!!!
