This isn't due to anything specific, but I do want to say;
If you are telling artists or creatives to make weirder and more unmarketable art, it is in fact your obligation and duty at that point to promote/pass around/support those creatives when they *do* make that weirder art. Otherwise we can't!

But, like, how do you tag something no one knows to look for? The discussion is always around how to limit your viewing experience to what you already like, not how to be seen.
It's good to do if you can afford to! I wish more of us could!!!
PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH, PLEASE! Don't *JUST* do that. Too many pros make the mistake failing to do just the basic tasks despite telling others, especially beginners, that what they do is not that hard.
You don't have to do a lot, but if you're gonna tell artists to do something, I hope you are willing to follow through on your end to support them!
Original stuff doesn't get the same love 😔
5k follows isn't enough, let alone 10k.
None of this is.. a *problem*? But like..
Which, great - again, I am not complaining, critters can block for any reason.
Eh. Do it. I support that. But like.. know what's going to happen if you do.
I put up a way to try and fund more fully original stuff rather than just commissions, and I've gotten critters contributing to it. <3
It just...like, it makes me wonder how much people realize "weird" is genuinely subjective, and not like. Their very specific idea of what "Acceptable weirdness/oddity" is???
Sometimes weird isn't for you - but if it isn't, at least pass it on!
BECAUSE WE ARE ALSO INTO MAKING WEIRD SHIT!!!! OTL
You want me to make something no one else, including me, was interested in, fine, but make your fetish worth my time.
I have an ongoing text-based rpg called Vekari: Remote Bypass! I have programmed it as well as made the majority of the artwork singlehandedly and it is always growing
It is a mess of cyberpunk sci fi, fantasy, psychological horror, and dark humor

If you like lore and wild fantasy/horror/sci fi passion projects, it's worth giving a look!
Be bold... not in what you make, but in how little you care if masses consume it. F products. F shares. F markets. Enjoy the making and scorn promo hustles (art posers for likes)
Others, like me, are disabled and incapable of doing side hustles, other jobs, etc to support the "artists lifestyle".
Making art is the Only lifestyle my body can currently allow for me, and I am not alone in that sentiment.
That's why it matters - not for clout, not for vanity - but for staying alive in a society that would see us waste away to nothing.
Unfortunately, we are far from that world. Passion and motivation are simply not enough if the only job you can work demands you utilize everything you have to just stay afloat.
Also recommend building diverse skill services to support the artists life style. Like... im mixing a Zoom meeting today 🤦♂️ Not art but it supports the art.
Many artists are not allowed the liberty of doing so, because we do not have the financial stability to make the art we long to make full or even part time.
Sorry for the long reply, I just wanted to take it seriously and explain thoroughly! ^^
