"Bluesky is dead"
Ways to not make it dead:
1.) Follow people.
2.) Engage in other people's posts.
3.) Follow a bunch of feeds and pin them.
4.) Use hashtags. They don't demote posts here.
5.) Browse hashtags.
6.) Post more often! (PostyBirb is a great tool for posting art to multiple sites)

Using hashtags in any form here does NOT demote your posts!
Want more interactions? Then interact with others. Don't expect them to come to you.
Avoided them so much
Although one thing that I kinda like is that Bluesky is not an endlessly scrolling platform like Twitter.
I go on here, look at stuff people I follow posted, and then go on with my day.
I mean, don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure Musky was like, "All your data is going into AI for training."
Playing with your Following Feed Preferences, and also your moderation settings will also help improve seeing more posts!
You gotta follow people, engage with the community, follow feeds, etc.!
Bluesky is definitely not dead. You gotta give to receive!
On twitter I basically never got interactions outside of bots.
Any site is empty when you join it, but you gotta put the effort forward. Follow people, post stuff, interact with people's posts... It's not hard.
I've seen so many folks do that.
*Drop a fursuit pic/art piece*
*Don't use hashtags*
*Doesn't interact with anybody*
*Vanishes for 2 months*
"Why is Bluesky so dead omg"
It's like they'll post a pic, then hop off for a month or two, come back, and complain it's dead lol
I really do need to engage more!
A peaceful and generally respectful community is just boring to them.
I sure interact a lot more here than when I was using Twitter, and it might be because there are no s*x bots or scammers in every single post.
Hashtags also cause you to show up on some feeds too, so they have dual purpose.
It is what you make it. It's no twitter, sure, but it's not dead. You just gotta follow and engage with more ppl.
Mastodon has a "wellness" setting you can turn on so you can't view follower numbers and post engagement numbers, which I wish they'd implement over here too!
Sporadically posts, doesn't use hashtags, and doesn't engage with other peoples' posts except for their own.
Honestly? Bluesky is more active to me than Twitter, and Twitter swallows my posts up like a void. Here, I actually get interactions.
Wait, people are actually saying this???
Tumblr is pretty cool, but it seems I'm just really dumb at figuring out how it works lol
Basically, post what you're up to, and reply to people.
Twitter barely has that now.

They also have https://Mastodon.social limited which is wild to me x3
It will seem dead until you find some content.
There's a lot of stuff turned off by default that if you want engagement you should have on, like showing users' replies to all posts, not just replies that get a couple likes/shares.
I’m still trying to grasp an understanding on how it works but from the little I’ve been able to get, I genuinely like it for what it is ~ 💕
The best way to learn something is to spend time on it and experiment and tinker around. Some folks don't bother doing this.
Honestly I don’t think I could be on a platform without tinkering around, maybe that’s just my curious cat nature but I love learning how a platform works & why, I can’t imagine being on a platform and not doing so.
I think people are also afraid to use hashtags, which is reasonable, since on Twitter, hashtags demoted posts and hid them. Whereas here, they're useful and good for discovering content.
like I can link my art telegram channel, do a few hashtags, and still write a paragraph horny description with NO recompense and only positives for interaction.
I actually posted here “hey literally guys, if you want a comm from me, just dm me. I’m up for it”
I got two people dm’ing me almost instantly. It’s that easy. And no big breasted OF account promoting bots offering to show me their fat breedable pussy in bio

The bots on Twitter are getting even worse now and posting actual NUDES in replies to folks. And that's real nasty because they could possibly be replying to minors.
On my personal? If a post blows up, that's cool. If it doesn't that's fine too, at least one person read it, and that's fine by me.
