This is the part you've lost me. Why is it neccesary for the *union* to secure these anti-AI contracts. Is it insufficient have anti-AI riders in your current contract? China also has anti-AI laws.

If a non-US VA exhausts the "all-you-can-work" time periods, can they still continue to work those gigs without joining SAG-AFTRA since they're outside the jurisdiction?

It will completely honest with you, this post ultimately comfirms the fear of most people that do not like this, I have already seen this thread shared in other spaces and the comments largely disagree with you, this is not good for non union VA and the union will hold to much power if agreed to.

This is a pretty good thread for dispelling a lot of the misconceptions, but it also leaves out a lot of information and raises more questions than it answers. Is 200 actually a large number? How many projects exist that haven't signed? What are the cast sizes of the projects that did sign?

How many of them are live-service games? How many of them were already union projects? How would studios benefit from becoming union projects over seeking studios in countries that are implenting AI protection laws (like China, ironically) and have no Taft-Hartley Act to complicate matters?

My response to that question: why, in this day and age, would you ever think that the workers are the ones being unreasonable? Have you not seen literally every industry in the USA atm? Have you not seen corporation villains in any fiction? White collar criminals? Not a hard to grasp concept.
