i'm showing my age now, but if you go back to 2013 and 2014, when there were rumours surrounding him started, there were politicians in both the house and senate who at the time called him out and some were ignored and/or pushed out of their seats. bernie sanders called him out in 2014 for example.

At some point, democrats will decide that if republicans aren’t going to enforce corruption laws, there’s no point in democrats being the only ones who pay a penalty, and corruption will grow.
