The MMR is a common way to prevent Measles. The other two letters stand for Mumps and Rubella (aka German Measles). Mumps can sterilize boys. German Measles, when caught by a pregnant woman, can cause tragic birth defects.

I don't know but odds are about 5% of the vaccinated kids will become infected. They won't be as sick as if they were unvaccinated. The vaccine is not perfect but it is excellent protection. Most or all of the unvaxxed kids will get it.

Measles can cause permanent disability and even death in kids. Disabilities are usually detected within a year of recovery. They include brain damage, vision/hearing loss, and chronic lung disease.
