What is it with Whitehorsians thinking their car is worth ~$6K more than what it should be? No matter how much you put into a vehicle for regular maintenance, it does not increase its value more than what you paid for it.

It’s like that across most rural and remote towns. Also, some price in the convenience to pay a little more here instead of taking a week to fly to AB, buy something and drive it up. We overpaid a little for two used vehicles over the years here but didn’t have time to shop around or head south.
I find the used market here wildly over confident in that they are doing me some sort of favour by owning it first, and I should be honoured to pay extra for their care.
Looking at a vehicle right now. Kid paid 8500 last year, paid the bills to keep it maintained, and is now asking 9500. Carfax, Blue Book, and Black Book all value the high end of that vehicle at 3500. Seeing similar with other vehicles.

We have two older vehicles that I plan to flip soon, and both will be listed above black book.
It all comes across as extremely greedy.
