I personally started to have a better sense of what causes me to spike carbs, and when I eat them during the day. If you're looking to lose weight, it will devise a meal plan based on what you're blowing. If you use the gym, you can blow before and find out if you're carbed up enough. I love it.
If you can swing it, I think you'll get something out of it. For sure the main specific advice it gives you are about diet. But there are also general guidelines about...hey, if you're gonna work out, blow, and see if you're carbed up, and compare it to your blow after the workout. It's cool.
What are one or two sayings/mantras you find yourself repeating to yourself sometimes?
Besides "your hat is awesome and you're awesome for wearing it" of course.
Josh is really the big coffee guy. I like to go to my local coffee shop here in DTLA to write, and the price of admission is getting a drink so often I do an almond latte, but I recognize that's sort of a wimpy caffeine delivery mechanism. :-)
There isn't, unfortunately, and yeah, that's how I watch after they're live. But I have a sneaky way to watch All-22s starting on Tuesday if I need to dive into a specific player.
It was quite fun and funny...I will definitely watch a second season, but I also have a little bit of dread about it because this one was so weird and unexpected and genuinely caused me to laugh out loud. I doubt it can surprise me again like that.
I don't really have "favorites," because I know I'm going to watch them all. I'm always judging how they do, I'm not worried about my reaction to it. The most fun thing is when a call we make on the pod turns out correct, but that's not really quite the same thing!
When you watch the games for the pod do you watch the full broadcasts or the condensed games to save time? On average how long does it take you to watch a game? I often wonder how you have the time to get through them all for the shows on Monday and Tuesday.
I watch live during the live windows...I just pause and am way behind, which is why Cousin Josh is not allowed to text me on Sundays. :-) Then once the games begin to be over, I watch fast-forwarding when necessary between plays. Buddy, you wonder how I have time, ha, me too! 14 hours yesterday!
JSN, and I'm not sure it's close. I'm not even sure DK will *be* in Seattle...he'll be entering the last year of his deal with zero guaranteed money left, which makes him prime for a holdout. I talked about it off the top of today's pod (first 10 minutes) if you're interested.
You often reference being happy (or not) about a team “covering” but you ALSO often reference not living in a “magic state” that allows sports betting… so: how long have you been able to bilocate?! (Unrelatedly, this skeet sponsored by Express VPN)
Well, part of my happiness is that we do a livestream where we pick all the games and I like looking vaguely intelligent? But also, yeah, no, I can't use DraftKings in CA (but I can in MA)...for here I have BookMaker.
What is your favorite and least favorite type of content to make? Both content form (i.e. posts, long form, podcast, etc.) and content type (i.e. waivers, data analysis, recaps, etc.)
I mostly just make podcasts. :-) This time of year, nothing is that much fun, obviously. But when July gets here, I'll be psyched to make shows again for sure!
Nice, middle school counts.
Mine was Three Dog Night but I was with my parents.
First one without them was Sonic Yourh, Dr.Jr, Beck, Cypress Hill, Hole, Mighy Mighty Bosstones, The Jesus Lizard. Lollapalooza 1995. After that I was hooked on concerts
You're awarded enough skymiles (or whatever airline equivalent) to fly anywhere in the world. Where do you go, and what led you to choose that particular place?
I'm personally not that well-traveled...I tend to use the offseason to climb into a burrow (not a Burrow) and write. Been thinking about Australia / Spain lately for reasons that I'm sure have nothing to do with the current U.S. political situation.
Tristan de Cunha. At 1500 miles to the nearest settlement, it's the most remote group of humans in the world. It would be very cool to spend time with people who are that cut off from the rest of us. Plus it's about a week by boat normally. If I can somehow get a seaplane instead, I'm taking it.
Oops, forgot to answer the full question. While Ive adored seeing all the historical sites and beautiful architecture that European cities have to offer, visiting a country with such a unique environment and progressive culture sounds awesome.
I'm not the best person to ask because I don't ever lack for *what* to write. But if the problem is feeling overwhelmed because "I don't know what happens" or "it's too big," that's easier: all you can do is do one day's worth of writing, and you can throw it away! There's no pressure, it's freeing!
I really don't. It's all very far away in my mind. I can barely tell you three movies I saw since we made last year's pod about it. I'll start making my list in a couple weeks...I'm very tired right now!
Oh, buddy, they go in and out of my head quicker than you can possibly imagine. I think my favorite pointless countdown is the actual Pointless Countdown theme music.
Ha, I read comic books when I was little so I know who they are, but I'm afraid I don't know what they were arguing about. I don't watch those movies very much anymore...reached a point, I sort of got it.
I don't have these things ranked, but I do get asked them a lot. I lost my personal investment in the individual players when I got to making shows every day -- I mean, it's easy to say Tom Brady, but that's my favorite *NFL* players because he plays for my team.
I haven't done ranks yet, but that doesn't sound like something I'll have in my ranks. Also Darnold hasn't even played yet, why are you worrying about this now? :-)
I do a lot of that, too. But also when you see yourself doing it, it's a good opportunity to be kind to yourself and say, "Hey, don't worry about that right now." Doesn't have to be a big deal, just a small way you can be kind to yourself!
You're ahead of the game, TSM! You *recognize* when you do it, and if there's space for you to recognize it, there's also space where you can intervene, parent yourself a little.
In a league that replaces WR2 and RB with flex spots (non-qb), how would that affect your RB vs WR priorities? Example, my strategy has been to get elite WR, and 1 serviceable RB, then all the handcuffs. I always end up with a viable starter by the end.

I also picked up "the only way out is through" somewhere
Probably........
Haha I appreciated that joke, might of been my favorite of the year. (c=
Alas, though many different animals appear in the film, there were no possums or gerbils
2) What sports did you play growing up?
