This is a concession by the U.S. government that its “arrangement” with El Salvador is irrevocable. To me this has to be grounds to argue that the arrangement itself is unconstitutional under the Fifth and Eighth Amendments

Here’s a problem: The President’s negotiations with foreign heads of state are covered by executive privilege. So if Trump tells the court, “I tried but there’s nothing I can do,” there’s no way to review or verify what he actually did (if anything).

Political protesting was a new experience for Jac Behrends, 28, a livestock farmer from New York’s Hudson Valley... but seeing Musk mimic a Nazi salute & seeing Trump’s rhetoric sway her mom into fearing immigrants spurred her… she drove down to DC at 4:30 am www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

Trump is implementing reciprocal tariffs, but does he know what "reciprocal" means?

JPM now has a US recession as their base case:

Since Mike Johnson and House Republicans have absurdly declared this entire year to be one loooooong legal day, we need to make reduce their salaries, healthcare and security to one day's pay, one day's coverage, one day's security protection.

WH has now confirmed: this is insane nypost.com/2025/04/02/u...

It has now been 30 days with NO humanitarian aid getting into Gaza. No food, no water, no medicine, no fuel. That is barbaric. The U.S. must end our complicity in these atrocities.

Guess where they got their weird trade deficit math from?

In order for the tariffs to have the intended effect Republicans would need to guarantee there won’t be anyone following Trump who would reverse his decisions.

Musk's pac now offering $50 to people who "snap a picture outside of a voting location with a WI resident holding a photo of" Brad Schimel It's illegal in Wisconsin to "engage in electioneering" within 100 feet of polling place

"The FDA as we've known it is finished." “CDC clobbered. The agency will not be able to function."

L. Brent Bozell III, who Trump tapped to become ambassador to South Africa, was in a coalition that opposed Nelson Mandela's political party during apartheid. After Mandela died, Bozell, criticized news coverage that "mythologizes" the South African leader. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/trumps-...

Goldberg: I've never experienced this.. these are these are life and death issues and you don’t just put out specific targeting information, specific timings of attacks that have not yet taken place into a commercial messaging app.

I want you to understand this is happening in our name and we know most of these men committed no crimes. One is a professional soccer player who was tortured in Venezuela and was working through asylum in the U.S. ICE shipped him for his Real Madrid tattoo and a picture throwing rock & roll horns.

BREAKING The Trump administration fired nearly the entire civil rights branch of the Department of Homeland Security on Friday, gutting a government office responsible for conducting oversight of President Trump’s immigration crackdown.

BREAKING: Trump's billionaire Commerce Secretary says that seniors won't care if they don't get their Social Security checks — and that anyone who does complain is a fraudster.

This is pretty stark.

There is no justification at all for Israel to resume the war in Gaza / Yossi Melman

Ahead of Germany’s election, with anti-immigrant sentiment rising, they released viral videos showing life without immigrants. History proves that when a country starts erasing certain people, it doesn’t end well. 🧵

Antisemitism is structurally necessary to Elon Musk's politics, because his identity is rooted in being an underdog fighting against the real power, but as the world's wealthiest person, who is deeply politically connected, he needs a definition of elite not rooted in wealth or corporate ownership.

Once again, Musk claims that George Soros controls the government. A classic antisemitic trope, as well as hilariously ironic considering his buying his way into the government.

This is horrifying! Family members of some of the people sent to do hard labor in a Salvadoran prison by Trump confirm their loved ones weren't members of a gang. One woman said her brother got a tattoo of a rose in Dallas, and because of that they accused him of being a gang member.

Hi, I'm the guy who used to oversee the federal government's agency IT telecommunications contracts. This is extremely bad. There is absolutely no need for this. Not only is it a huge security exposure, but the simplest explanation for this is that it is meant to be a security exposure.

New today at Rolling Stone and American Doom: Social Security has a new rule under Trump that could bankrupt seniors. Republicans like Sen. Rick Scott were against the policy under Biden. Now, they’re silent. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

20 years of bitching about woke humanities departments and the first thing they do is defund STEM

Musk doesn't seem worried that he and Trump threaten social and economic collapse. On the contrary, it appears that's his goal. Musk swims in a tech-fascist ideology that believes democracy should be replaced by billionaire dictators — like himself. www.salon.com/2025/03/17/t...

And the leaders on the Dem side of the aisle have not remotely internalized this

Elon Musk says that no one has died because he slashed humanitarian aid. I went to South Sudan to check if that's true. It's not. Meet Peter, Achol and Evan, ages 10, 8 and 5. The reckless actions of the world's richest men are killing the world's poorest kids www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

1/ Musk says he’s dead but he isn’t. Social Security clawed back 2 months of benefits & haven’t sent more. “He called Social Security 2 or 3 times a day for two weeks, with each call put on hold and then eventually disconnected.” Finally he went down in person www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...

This is white supremacist, great replacement Nazi shit coming out of the mouth of the U.S. vice president.

They started with the undocumented, then they went after visa holders and permanent residents, now it's naturalized citizens. How many times must history rhyme and repeat before we realize what's going on?

BREAKING—The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) office was just on lockdown for close to an hour while members of the DOGE team tried to enter the building, multiple people have told me. Security has now escorted out remaining staffers who’ve been told to telework until further notice.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

It’s a small detail but having the un-uniformed thug who’s detaining him wear a t-shirt with Captain America on it is a deft touch. Hail Hydra.

Extraordinary moment — Nancy Pelosi issues a statement calling on Democratic senators to reject the House funding bill, i.e. to defy Chuck Schumer. "Democratic senators should listen to the women," she says, referring to Murray/DeLauro who want a 1-month stopgap bill instead.
