I take your point. But I’m tired of how every good thing has to be turned into a negative. sometimes adults need help too. When Mr. Rogers talks about the helpers he mentions first responders. They don’t only help children.

Helpers can inspire hope. Helpers can inspire action. Not just for kids.

With a minor caveat that if you haven't been a helper before, look for the helpers first and ask them where your efforts would be best placed. There are so many roles to fill in existing efforts. Then get your ass to work.

I don’t think that’s a mutually exclusive sentiment. Fred Rogers was ALWAYS talking to kids and adults alike, and he positioned himself as a Helper—I believe with the hope that others would become Helpers too. In times of crisis, a Helper can find their kin and should embrace that community.

Some adults are not used to living in an adversarial environment, or they are highly sensitive. They can't be helpers. They just need to take care of themselves and survive to not be a burden.

Not trying to roast them. Some adults break down with stress.

Except that's not my point at all. EVERY person needs help and EVERY person can help. Mutualism is the entire reason humanity was able to thrive to the point that the parasitic oligarch class and their myth of "self-reliance" could arise in the first place.
