It doesn't manifest the same as the hypermuscular aesthtic for men but there's a whole reckoning happening as "fitness" influencers openly embrace very thin body types and maga at the same time

It may not be gym bros, but “crunchy” influencers for lack of a better term have definitely been a huge gateway to right wing beliefs. It’s funny bc initially this lifestyle was associated with kind of left-leaning hippies, but there has been a huge shift

My dad is literally an old hippy in a right wing new age cult.

It is so frustrating. He holds patently bigoted beliefs like, "being gay is unnatural" but doesn't think he's on the right, politically, b/c he uses words like "natural."

Ugh I’m so sorry. And yeah, all about what’s “natural.” And that can lead to vaccines, GMOs, etc. With women there is/was a phenomenon that was dubbed pastel QAnon. It is all about wellness, protecting one’s children… It was really effective at targeting these women

You also saw it in makeup— the “clean girl” trend, the borrowing of looks that sorted facial features into narrow types, etc. That’s why I say we also need to fight the fash with fashion.
