I’m in the @financialtimes.com magazine today, writing about simple, no-effort eats and treats, including anchovy and stracciatella crostini, smoked salmon with Sanbaizu vinegar, chestnut and pancetta salad, Mont Blanc and Pedro Ximénez affogato!

Fantastic article! I now need to track down some Sanbaizu vinegar in my neck of the woods. I already have wild Alaskan smoked salmon and radishes on standby.
One of my favorite new things is @nigella.bsky.social ‘s recipe for roasted red onion with fennel seeds and basil leaves. I serve it with forbidden rice and a splash of sherry vinegar. It’s pretty magical.
In fairness I have had anchovies in a few things and it’s worked amazingly - I just think it’s easy to overpower everything. They’re the fish equivalent of a mini nuke
I love the recipes too. I always imagine the product team at Waitrose going into panic mode at each new reveal. HAVE WE GOT SANBAIZU VINEGAR??? F***K THIS ITS SUNDAY WHERE DO WE GET IT??
Though it's Waitrose so they're probably not so sweary.

I stick to the things I can make with locally available stuff.
Nigella did a Mac n cheese using sweet potato, and that was really rather lovely.
