Books intimidate the illiterate
Have you heard of P2P file sharing? Torrents? Keep2Share? Rapidgator? Libgen? And THOUSANDS of others?
Digital books are IMPOSSIBLE to ban. Compressed with a password, they can't effectively be blocked unless one blocks ALL file transfers.
That being said, books can be encoded onto non-volatile storage media, so unless the electricity goes away FOREVER, we may yet be able to recover them.

Of course, those are only useful if you have a READER.
If you don't, you'd have to build one, so we'd have to include instructions.
But what should we print the instructions on???
